SUPERLOCAL 2020 - Stockholm Independent Art Fair

I’ve written to one of the main organizers that I know asking him if we can join in with Galleri Frihamnstorget. What do you think @cecilia_ulfsdotter?
It’s already next week starting on Thursday and running over the weekend. Would be a great chance to showcase Frihamnstorget, the new gallery and not least your exhibition!

SUPERLOCAL 2020 is the local edition of Supermarket – Stockholm Independent Art Fair replacing its international version that was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. With focus on the local instead of the global, SUPERLOCAL 2020 features thirteen Stockholm-based artist-run initiatives with over forty participating artists.

SUPERLOCAL 2020 will take place on 3–6 September in different venues around the city.

SUPERLOCAL Info Point will be located in Kafé 44 on Tjärhovsgatan 46 serving as an information centre, café and scheduled daily programme of Talks & Performances.

SUPERMARKET – Stockholm Independent Art is an art fair that offers visitors an exhibition of the latest contemporary art mixed with unexpected meetings and experiences, rather than focusing on sales.

Got an answer from the organizer Andreas now. He’s got too much to do in the days remaining to include us (and maps etc are all printed already) but we’re welcome to join in next year.

A shame, would have been a good fit.

We could still push it as “unofficial”. Not to post on their event or pages but to push our own thing.

“As well as Superlocal come down and check out our indie art fair at Frihamnstorget” something like that

Yup, it’s very possible. Personally I think he could have easily offered us to participate anyway without being included on the physical maps. Like a last minute bonus thing just posted in the FB event. It’s not a lot of work for him. We could have also easily helped updating the digital map so they wouldn’t have to do any extra work.
But I didn’t want to be too pushy about it.

Without being included in their official communication means that we will have a much harder time reaching out beyond our usual suspects. That also means that I don’t feel that I can personally commit energy to making this happen. But if someone else wants to go for it please do so!

aw yes that sounds amazing, shame, but yes lets make frihamnstorget one of them next year!

@hampus You should push it, the bonus additional exhibit without needed to be on their physical map is an easy thing for them to do. Give it a try, all they can say again is no right.
